Lumbarda

Our little place, begotten in the shelter of rocks and the sea has always been attracting by its beauty.

This is what about still petrified pages of history witness, scattered in the landscape as a permanent reminder of the long coexistence of humans and nature.

One of them takes us back to the days of third century BC, when the ancient Greeks from the island of Issa, today called Vis, erected on the banks their city. The event remained permanently recorded on the famous stone inscription, Lumbardian PSEFIZAM.

“Good luck”, said its authors. Indeed, luck followed the Lumbarda through out the turbulent centuries of history. Different people and cultures were changing here, changing the original landscape, shaping it into a picture as we know it today. Image we want to share with you.
It’s all in our Lumbarda and you are welcome here! So … Come to Lumbarda. Listen to ancient stories of the winds of time ahead, dive into the deep blue seas and discover the beautyof this underwater; soak up the sun on the pristine sandy and rocky beaches, stroll along forest trails, visit the islands … Taste the golden drops of  our famous wine Grk and enjoy the flavors of local cuisine.
